Still a blur queen

Holy shit! I just realised that I had made a grave mistake yesterday...

There was a bad battery in our UPS and this required a replacement of new battery. Someone from the maintenance company came punctually at the appointed time and the replacement job was completed in less than half an hour. I was very happy that everything went smoothly without any hitch and when requested to fill up a customer satisfaction survey upon job completion, I gave a positive review (or so I thought) on all categories.

I just got a call from the maintenance company enquiring why I was totally dissatisfied with the job done. That got me very puzzled... why would I be totally dissatisfied with someone who came punctually at the appointed time and completed the job in less than half an hour?

Woots! It seems that I have circled "totally dissatisfied" instead of "very satisfied" on all categories! ***red faced*** I must have upset the technical guy very much... he was standing right beside me when I was doing the survey. ***sticking out tongue***

I tried calling him in the office to apologise to him but unfortunately he was not in. I left a message for him to return my call and just in case he was still upset with me and did not want to talk to me, I explained my folly to his colleagues and requested that they explained my mistake to him.

Sigh! That's me... forever so blur blur...

Grow your lashes (part two)

Part one is here.

Long, curled lashes are every woman's desire as they really open up the eyes and pep up the looks. My quest for long lashes continues and by sheer chance I read about castor oil. It seems there is some buzz on the internet over castor oil being used to stimulate growth of eyelashes and eyebrows. I am always game for anything that can enhance my peepers and before long I have added another lash growth product to my collections.

I bought this from Yours Essentially and the good thing about this is it does not cost an arm and a leg. I paid S$3.50 for it (exclusive of postage). I wrote here that Ardell Brow and Lash Growth Accelerator works for me and it seems that castor oil is one of the ingredients found in Ardell!

I applied it lightly on my brows and lashes using a q-tip before going to bed and in just couple of days I noticed that my brows are darker and I also spotted some new growth on my upper lashes. Lilian, who is always very observant, remarked that my lashes seem longer these days. *happie happie*

It was mentioned somewhere that castor oil for lashes and hair growth is actually an age-old remedy used by the Egyptians and Indians. It can also be used to condition the hair, cuticles, lips and heels.

Click here for more readings on castor oil and lash growth.

The other two lash growth products I have tried are I'amour Eyelash Tonic (highly recommended by Taiwanese celebrity Vivian Hsu 徐若萱) and Talika Lipocils. Sad to say both products do not work for me and it pained me to think that I paid S$60+ for Talika. *heartache sia*

In case you are also tempted to try castor oil, please note that this is just my personal experience and don't blame me if you experience any negative results from using it. Majority of those who tried it have reported positive results but there are also some who reported breaking out in oil seeds near the eyes. *don't say I never warn hor*

Tenya Tempura Bar

Tenya Tempura Bar - the first of its kind in a Singapore food court, was highly recommended by Paris and Milan on Channel 8. We decided to check it out, so off we went to The Food Place located on the 3rd level of Raffles City Shopping Centre for our dinner.

It's styled like "Yong Tau Foo", where food is laid out for your choices on the counter. One needs to order a minimum of six pieces, with vegetables such as shitake mushrooms, lotus root, sweet potato, ladies fingers, eggplant, carrot and pumpkin costing 60 cents each and seafood items such as prawn, scallop, white fish at $1.80 each. Japanese rice is $1.00 per serving.

All items are fried on the spot and service is pretty fast.

We ordered the Ten Don set consisting of Japanese rice, a prawn, a scallop, a piece of carrot, a shitake mushroom, a piece of pumpkin and a bowl of miso soup. This set costs S$6.20.

This was ordered a la carte, about S$7+

The tempura is not greasy and the batter is light and crispy on the outside and sweet and fluffy on the inside. My favorite is definitely the scallop and pumpkin. Sedap!

I love eating out with Lewis. He is not one who wastes food and since I am a small eater, he is always ready to polish off my leftovers.
